MAASFEP will honor up to two schools per Congressional district that have made exceptional growth towards closing the achievement gap and raising achievement for all students. Criteria for the awards include:
- Growth above state averages as measured by state assessment results;
- Evidence from at least one other measure that the school is closing the gap and raising achievement;
- Growth for two or more years.
Nominations will be accepted until December 1, 2010 and winners will be announced in January 2011. Schools will be honored at the Spring 2011 MAASFEP Conference.
