MAASFEP: Minnesota Association of Administrators of State & Federal Education Programs

Student Scholarship Information

The Minnesota Association of Administrators of State and Federal Education Programs is pleased to offer four $2,000 scholarships to former or current Title I (Chapter 1) participants.

All applications and other data requested must be postmarked no later than January 6, 2012.

Students who will be granted the scholarship will be notified by March 2012 and will be recognized and invited to attend the Spring MAASFEP Conference.

A check of $2,000 will be issued jointly to the recipient and the institution of higher learning upon successful completion of the first semester of enrollment. The chair of the Scholarship Committee must receive a letter from a trade school, technical college, college, or university which indicates the student’s enrollment and attendance.

All information is to be word processed, not hand-written. Answers may be attached to the scholarship application if you have difficulties using the form.

Scholarships:

  • 2 year General MAASFEP Scholarship
  • 4 year General MAASFEP Scholarship
  • Hilda Sanchez-Henke Memorial Scholarship (2 or 4 year)
  • Kristen Schroeder Memorial Scholarship (4 year)

CRITERIA FOR GRANTING SCHOLARSHIPS

  1. Applicant must graduate by June 2012.
  2. Applicant must be or have been a participant in the Title I (Chapter 1) Program or Migrant Education Program for the Hilda Sanchez-Henke Award.
  3. Applicant must indicate and display a desire for education beyond the high school level.
  4. Applicant must carry and maintain a 2.5 grade average or better during his/her junior and senior years.
  5. Applicant must possess and display good study habits.
  6. Applicant should display a positive attitude and be a good role model.
  7. Applicant should exhibit an interest in school, community, and/or work related activities (i.e.), student council, youth group, sports, community service, etc.
  8. Additional criteria for Hilda Sanchez-Henke Award: Applicant must state verification of Hispanic descent.
  9. Additional criteria for Kristen Schroeder Scholarship: entering an education or criminal justice program.
